Here is my 10, 000 Kms review about my CBZ Xtreme,

Riders like us always love their Machines and defend their loved ones what ever happens.

(It doesn’t mean that I am going to defend my bike in this review instead I make my review neutral and useful to every one)

Bike Make & Model: Hero Honda  CBZ Xtreme.

Year and month of manufacture: 2007 March

Color: Sport RED

Odo meter Reading: 9999.1(yes I really wait such long time to write this review).

Fuel Efficiency: It produces 46 KMPL in City and on HIGHWAY it gives 51 KMPL at an average of 50-60 KMPH speed with 70 Kg weighted fellow like me.

Top speed: 110 KMPH

My CBZ Xtreme named ORCA(it means a killer whale) is truly a gentle giant.

7+ feet long, 4+ feet high, 2.5+ feet wide and 150 Kilograms(with full tank)

Initially after take the first ride out of the show room I felt this bike is going to be my partner and together we are going to conquer some of the south Indian roads with ease and true rider’s spirit. There is no controversy about the above statement, both me and my cbz done xtreme thing together with ease.

City Driving is not that breeze but in long haul highway rides cbz X really rocks with better handling and driving pleasure.

I am not a speeder but a responsible enthusiastic rider. Cbz x perfectly suits my character and behave like a gentle giant as I mentioned before.

Out of my 10, 000 kms 8, 500 kms is highway riding.

Pros.

Better characteristics found with my CBZ X than my old Yamaha ENTICER and my friend’s pulsar 150 in every aspect of Acceleration, Braking, Seating comfort, Emergency stopping, Non stop riding for a period, Pathhole behaviors( at least 7 or 8 times I struck hard into some 1 or 2 feet deep pathholes with out any wheel damage).

No trouble on rainy roads, mud surfaces and sandy roads after the tyre changes(see below).

Night ride is pleasant one with the head lamp throws enough lights on roads and objects about 60 KMPH cruise.

Cons.

Cold start need choke but it’s the purpose of it.(Even  after 3 hours idle)

Due to the high seating posture and center of gravity bike feels slightly flimsy on cross winds.

The bike’s purpose is for solo riding(I think) pillion comfort is not so good.

This bike is strictly not for beginners and short tempered fellows.

Because Initially my bike gives me a lot of trouble because of the pure negligence made by the dealers, Starting failure in rain, Power lose in cold weather, Meager mileage, Valve noise, Neck noise, Rear break shoe noise. But I sort out all those problems with a Pvt mechanic because I love my bike more than me and now the cbz x really rocks.

I recommend the following modification for CBZ X, HUNK and KARIZMA owners to improve your ride quality.

Took out and throw away the front and rear rubbers(tyres) from MRF 2.75x18 42 PR an 100/90 x18 56 PR as standard fitment from the factory, these tyres are the real culprits which affects the handling, breaking and cornering ability of the bikes, so remove them and put the following spec tyres.( it hardly cost you Rs. 750 for front tyre and Rs.1100 for rear tyre)

Dunlop Zebra Y 3.00 x 18 52 PR front for better extensive disc braking and wet road grip(rolling pattern is most important).

Dunlop GEO CRUSIER 100/90 x 18 56 PR(Really a great tyre) at rear for better braking, cornering, wet road handling. Hold the MRF 100/90 tuff up tube comes with cbz rear tyre and use it with Dunlop geo crusier tyre for rear modification.( "just change the tyre instanly you feel the difference of smooth riding, better road grip and better braking after this"). (believe me 100/90 dunlop is little larger than MRF and perfectly suits to the bikes chase without any modification and most importantly the mileage and top speed are remaining the same with out any warranty lose)

Importantly maintain air pressure as 27 - 30 psi on front tyre and 33 - 35 psi on rear tyre.

Use1200 ml 20w 40 grade engine oil from idemitsu, japan(available at your nearest idemitsu Dealers) comes with HONDA badge, with 100 ml Nulon engine oil additive to nourish your engine for every 6000 kms.(usually 10w 30 oil grade is recommended by Hero Honda but fail to produce any impression on engine performance and only recommend for those who wants more mileage).

Love your machines,

Take prompt and proper care on them,

Drive Responsibly,

Ride with true enthusiasm,

Set the fire on the heart,

With true rider’s spirit fills in you, then let's go conquer the roads ahead.
