Hero Honda Motorycles Limited(HHML),India's largest motorcycle manufacturers and day by day growing leaders with a turnover of Rs.5000 crore,have had always been a name on which everyone relies.Starting with their base model,The CD-100 Deluxe,they spread their 'splendor' in the whole world.They created 'passion' in the hearts of the youngs.They offered power too in terms of the CBZ,but their 'joy' did'nt last long coz the 'dawn' was'nt bright enough.
The company became worried and ambitious. People wanted something which could give them power and at the same time something which would'nt prove heavy on their wallets.The company saw to it and planned its 'ambitions'.As a result of that,we got the Hero Honda Ambition.
The name itself describes the motorcyle's characteristics.With a front regal crest,stylish tail light,cut out fuel tank,this Hero Honda looks good when blacked.Styling may not be to everybodys tastes but sure attracts attention.Does'nt it?
Ambition may be regarded as CBZ junior,in terms of power but the powerplant resting in this bike is a step above the CBZ in terms of refinement.The 133cc mill generates 11 bhp@8000 rpm which enables the bike to attain a maximum speed of 95km/hr.
In terms of performance,the bike's a little slow at the top speeds,still has a good pick up.0-60 comes in about 9 seconds whereas reaching the next 20 marks(i.e. 80km/hr) takes about 10-12 seconds more.
Mileage,according to my experience is around 55-65 km/l,which is very good(remember enticer=125cc,50-60km/l),although it may improve a little as the bike runs,the higherways. Other features include an optional electric starter to facilitate starting.The superb front disc brake is an option worth money too.The bike comes loaded with five gears,yes five!not the usual four!which makes this bike fun to ride.
The base Ambition, without a self-starter and front disc brake is priced at Rs 45,000,escalating to Rs 48,000 for the disc-braked version and topping up at Rs 53,000 for the disc brake and self-starter version. Hero Honda Ambition was created to bridge the gap between the 100cc bikes and the CBZ.Let us see how much success the future brings in reply to Hero Honda's ambitions!(pun intended)
