Well here is the review of the hh achiever. I feel that hero honda is the pinnacle of indian bike manufacturers, they have always produced some quality bikes and continue to do so. When I first saw the achiever I decided this is the only bike that I am going to buy and preffered it over the likes of pulsar, unicorn and apache. So let's see where the achiever stands. Let's start with the engine. So you press the electric start button and the bike comes to life with idle speed of 1400 RPM exactly as indicated in the owner's manual. The bike shares it's engine with the unicorn as you all know. But it sounds a little different from it, it's a little more sporty, perhaps because of the presence of the AMI(Advanced Microprocessor Ignition) present in it, a feature which is present in karizma and it's little sister ambition. Anyways, the pickup is great and the bike roars from 0-60 in around 6 seconds with hardly any noticable vibration. Around 70 or 80 the bike starts to struggle. The bikes lacks top end power but the low end will always keep you happy and overtaking is not that difficult either. The bikes sounds unsporty. CBZ was great when it comes to sound but it's not problem for me the engine is very smooth. Take a CBZ or a pulsar to 70KMPH and you'll realise how much these bikes vibrate. The bike's not meant for zip-zap-zoomers, go get a karizma. Infact that applies to all the 150 cc bikes. Achiever is a blend of fuel effeciency and decent power. The gearbox is very easy to use. The 1 down 4 up pattern is a joy to use. It never makes any harsh noise in any gear even when changing from nuetral to 1'st. The bike never finds nuetral on it's own thankgod. Very smooth gearbox indeed. Probably the best out there. The ride quality of the bike is very good. I never felt the need of a gas shocker or monoshock. The bike takes care of pathholes and bad roads like a dream. Handling is also good, at high speeds the bike feels very confident but at low speeds the achiever feels slightly nervous, but not a big problem. Cornering takes a bit of practice, once you learn get ready to fly around the corners as the bikes feels very stable and confident, alloys would have boosted it even more. The bike gives me a fuel effecience of 53-55 km/l. Not bad I think it's good. Styling is a matter of personal choice. I like the achiever. I don't think it looks bad overall, infact it looks good. The bike looks best in colour black. The bike always grabs attention in public. Girls like it too. But they were looking the bike from front and side only. The bike does look quite bland from rear. The jewel effect tail lamps looks nice when lit up but it's not very well designed. The rear doesn't look good. But even a few superbikes look bland from rear. Overall I think it's a good looking bike but no apache or CBZ. Verdict Why would you buy this bike? Hero honda has very good service network. Their service staff are very polite and helpful, something which bajaj and especially TVS lacks. Plus the achiever has a very refined engine, it hasn't given me a single problem yet after 800 km. This is almost the best 150 cc bike. But Where are alloys and fatter tyre? Otherwise the achiever is a good bike and wouldn't let you down. It's a matter of personal taste as well one can go for pulsar or apache but their service quality is nowhere near hero honda. Best of luck.
