Why Hero Maestro Stands Out from Others?

I'm Ramesh from Chennai and have been driving Honda Activa for past 8 years. When I decided to buy a new one, these where the features that I was looking in the new vehicle.

  1. Highly stylish look

  2. A Male specific scooter

  3. A bigger/broader vehicle (not like Scooty type which are small vehicles that does not give me a satisfaction of driving a vehicle). This gets most of the scooters in the market (TVS Scooty, Mahindra Duro/Rodeo, TVS Wego to name a few) to go out of my choice.

  4. Stylish Instrumentation Panel

  5. Good Driving Comfort (Wide Seat / Good Driving Posture / Good Leg space)

  6. Front Glove Box

  7. Good Pickup (Preferably 125 CC)

  8. Front Telescopic Suspension

  9. Good Braking System

  10. Good Mileage

I was searching for a new scooter to comprise all these 10 points for the past 6 months but none satisfied all my needs. After analyzing and test riding all the scooters in the market I narrowed down to these 3.

  1. Honda Aviator

  2. Suzuki Swish

  3. Hero Maestro

Honda Aviator -

Pros - 125 cc engine, braking system, telescopic suspension.

Cons - Poor Instrumentation Panel, No Front Glove Box and Bad Driving Comfort.

I rejected it mainly because, during test ride, I was not at all comfortable in driving it.

Suzuki Swish -

Pros - 125 cc engine, braking system, telescopic suspension.

Cons - WORST Instrumentation Panel

I rejected it mainly because it had many decade old instrumentation panel. Even my 8 year old Activa has a better one. Also the vehicle gets a girlish look (particularly when u sit and look the leg room, it gives the appearance of a butterfly shape).

Hero Maestro -

Pros - The BEST Stylish Look, Stylish Instrumentation Panel, braking system

Cons - 110 cc (makes pickup little lower compared to its rivals), No Telescopic Suspension.

This scooter catch my eyes on first look (made me feel "Aha! This stylish look is what I was waiting for"). A bigger / broader size and Male'ish appearance dragged me closer. The front/rear/side stylish looks mesmerised me. When I saw the instrumentation panel (Combined Stylish Analog speedo meter plus a Digital Trip/Odometer) I was flattered. Also when I test drive the vehicle (5 times from 5 different dealers), I found a good and decent suspension which made the lack of telescopic suspension not a big deal. So I was left with one drawback now - only 110 cc (not 125 cc) which results in lower pickup when compared to Swish. But in our city roads we cannot drive faster (not more than 40 Km average) which does not need a higher rated cc.

Since all the above 3 vehicles give about 40-45 KM mileage. I was not much concerned about this.

So I very happily went for Hero Maestro and I'm a Proud owner of the vehicle now. I booked the vehicle for Blue Color. Unfortunately all colors were available except blue. I need to wait for nearly 1.5 months to get that color.

Now I'm extremely happy that I made a right choice to satisfy most of my needs and really feel like a HERO driving my Maestro.

Maestro's driving comfort is luxurious and super smooth. The handles are smooth with good grip that makes driving painless. The headlamp is the one that I have to mention. This scooter has the best headlamp among its rivals. Turning radius is such a pleasure that taking U-Turn is too smooth and easy. It has ample leg room even with front glove box. Also the storage space is good enough to hold one large size helmet. Digital Trip meter is first of its kind in the scooter sector. Digital odometer and Fuel indicator are highlights. It's too easy to put the main stand (not hard like Activa or any other scooters of its kind). The seat is very well wide enough to accommodate 2 adults (of any size) comfortably. Also the sitting posture is uniquely designed that I do not get any back ache that I constantly get while drive Activa.

So what's the mileage - I've used the vehicle for past 1.5 months. It gives me 44 Km average.

I could not end this article without mentioning this - Not a single day passed without a person enquiring about the vehicle when I take it on road.
