Himalaya Heavenly Organic Honey – Golden Liquid. It is very interesting to know that it takes approximately 36, 000 foraging trips by the honey bee to produce one pound of honey. A teaspoon full of honey is a life’s work for one honey bee.

Honey has been the natural health food providing good amounts of energy and amazing fitness. Besides having lower calories than sugar, honey is also packed with natural vitamins, minerals, proteins and antioxidants. This wonderfully rich golden liquid is the miraculous product of honey bees and a naturally delicious alternative to white sugar.

But it is very unfortunate that almost all the branded honey sold in India is likely to be contaminated with harmful antibiotics. A research study by the Centre for Science and Environment, CSE's Pollution Monitoring Laboratory tested around twelve leading brands of honey sold in Delhi, including those made by Indian companies such as Dabur, Himalaya, Patanjali, Baidyanath and Khadi, Scientists found high levels of six harmful antibiotics in eleven samples.

The antibiotics are fed to bees to prevent disease, promote growth and increase honey production to meet commercial targets. These antibiotic substances could damage the blood, kidneys, liver, bones and teeth.

It’s shocking to know that India is blamed for creating a superbug that is resistant to most antibiotics. Indian honey has been banned several times by the UK and the US. Since May 2010, there has been a ban on import of Indian honey in the European countries because of the presence of antibiotics. However there are no standards for antibiotics in honey in India. Foreign companies take advantage of the lack of regulations in India. Antibiotics are not allowed in honey in the United States and Europe.

I like honey & consume everyday in the morning by mixing it with lemon & warm water. After breakfast I take honey with milk to boost my stamina for the day. I used to buy Dabur honey, but after knowing the harmful facts, I have stopped consuming Dabur Honey. From past one year I am consuming Himalaya Heavenly Organics Honey.

Difference between Organic & Non Organic Honey

Organic honey is fast gaining a strong foothold in the honey market. Organic honey production involves stringent guidelines to protect the honey from contamination by pesticides and antibiotics during the honey production( set by a organic agriculture certification body), which include source of the nectar, honey bees foraging area, bees management, honey extracting process, transportation, processing temperature, and packaging materials.

Some organic food consumers feel that honey produced by organic farmers has a more superior taste than conventionally produced honey, but personally I did not find any difference in terms of taste superiority.

Why to buy Himalaya’s Heavenly Organic Honey?

Many of the branded varieties of honey we find in the market have been so processed that many of the beneficial enzymes, nutrients and antioxidants have been completely destroyed. In order to reap the benefits of honey, we must consume organic honey.

The Himalaya Heavenly Forest Honey is 100% organic forest honey made from the nectar of hundreds of forest flowers found in the tropical evergreen forests of South & North India. There are over 800 different plant species in this forest and the bees collect honey from about 600 flowering plants & several rare plant species including many medicinal plants.

The Himalaya Honey has a sweet flavor and smoothness in texture that is rich and creamy.

The organic honey is natural with absolutely no sugar or added preservatives.

The honey is dark with a unique taste, deep flavor and distinctive aroma.

The organic honey is never heated and ensures that all the delicate enzymes and health-promoting qualities are preserved.

The honey is free of chemicals, antibiotics, genetically modified organisms and growth hormones.

The organic honey is harvested in an eco-friendly and sustainable manner.

The Himalayan Heavenly Organics honey is Certified 100% Organic by the USDA and European Union.

The Organic Honey is rich in antioxidants, amino acids and bioflavonoids. It has three times more bioflavonoids and seven times more antioxidants than other honeys. This honey is also packed with vitamins and enzymes.

Warning

Although there are many benefits of honey, realistically it must be consumed in moderation. Not only does it contains a lot of calories, but over consumption of honey may be harmful, especially to the intestinal tract of babies and, thus, it should never be given to infants under the age of one year. .

My View

Himalayan Heavenly Organics honey is packed by stringent quality control measures, cent percent organic & guarantees the purity and quality of the honey. In any recipe that calls for granulated sugar one can substitute with organic honey.
