We were on our holiday trip to Delhi through Bangalore- Hazrat Nizammuddin Express,dated on 12th September,2009. The train arrived on time,and throughout it was on time...that's the best part of it. But the coach looked shabby,with Max New York insurance advertisement all over the coach. We expected something better,I say cleaner,inside. But there also it was no good.Felt like an old coach is being used from car shed without proper painting and cleaning.Well,the staffs were helpful at the beginning. As the time passed,they came back to their original form.The door of the indian toilet was not closing properly. And after entering there,to my horror,I discovered a crack on the wall through which One can peep from outside!!!!!!!!!!! I had some chewing gum with me,and I covered the peephole with it. As I was brushing my teeth,I saw somebody is scratching on the chewing gum and trying to make a peephole again!!!!!!!! I came out and caught one of the attendant of catering,who was actually there doing this craft work! I did not make it an issue,as I am aware that no complaint is going to change their nature.........before also I have come across same situations,and got no result after complaining.So this time I did not waste my energy. I asked my hubby to stand there every time I needed to use the washroom,because whenever I was going there alone,the catering stuffs were pretending to loose balance on the moving train and .......... further explanation is not required I think! Did not see any TC or anybody to whom we can complain. Food was OK,but they keep on feeding us which is irritating sometimes. The finest part of this drama was yet to come. The previous night before we arrived Delhi,they came to collect tips from us,after the dinner. We tipped them with Rs. 50,and they took it without any comment. But our co-passengers didn't tipped them off. The shameless catering fellow commented while passing by, "kaise kaise BEHUDE log chad jaate hain train mein"! wow....great! ! Rajdhani passengers really deserve treatments like this from catering stuffs! Our co passengers did not receive proper treatment from these people,food items were literally thrown on them,then also they did not complain.and this is the reward. Mamata di, please take care of these things. Rajdhani is one of the best trains of India,don't let the impression being destroyed in the hands of these catering staffs,who do not have the minimum respect for human beings.Our journey was good,sans these bitter experiences. Mamata di,can't you make each one memorable for us,in good way?
