There have already been reviews which target the plot and screenplay. My review plans to target the actual movie, the visuals, screenplay, the positives and of course those odd bloopers that people rarely notice. (I must warn you, I have seen the movie only once and hence I can not possibly notice all the bloopers! ) Pardon me for being nit-picky, but I noticed!

Positives: The screenplay of the movie was awesome, impeccable to a very high degree. I especially liked the use of vernacular at Geeta's house. Very well written.

The attires worn by the cast were well researched reflecting the era the movie is placed in. Esp the suits worn by Vikram and the sarees and jewellry worn by Geeta. Excellent job with the costumes.

The well chosen surroundings for shooting the film. Awesome acting by each of the cast members. Shiny is especially commendable - simply marvellous performance. Excellent direction and editting.

Bloopers: A scene was shot in front of a movie theatre which had posters of Zanjeer, a couple of other Amitabh movies and to the left of the screen there was a large poster of Amir Khan and Aishwarya Rai (In the 1970s?? Really??? Some time travel experts they must be! Or what make up do they use to look so young??)

During the love making scene of Siddharth and Geeta, you get a glimpse of Levis Jeans. They were not available in India then. (I doubt they were as famous in the UK then) I believe jeans had their big boom in the 80s.

Uncannily, Geeta never loses her British accent (inspite of staying in Bihar and speaking almost strictly in Hindi for five years! )

Vikram has a bit of the American drawl (typically seen among the Delhi youth of late) which did not make its debut into India until cable arrived in the early 90s.

Foul language in English was not censored (words like f**k ) where as foul language in hindi was. (What kind of biased censor board do we have in the country??)

I am not sure about this, but I believe one of the songs played during college (1969) was not made by the Beatles until 1971 or so... (I will listen to the soundtrack again for this! )

On the whole, inspite of excellent screenplay, acting, directing, locations, editting the film left me with a sense of incompleteness of experience. As a viewer I felt I needed to have read the history of the time properly to understand it (which shouldn't be necessary).
