I have been using Hathway Internet at 5 Mbps for over a year now. Recently Hathway promoted 50 Mbps plans after upgrading their network in Bangalore(and few other cities).
At the time of renewal of my subscription, I received an SMS from Hathway suggesting to upgrade to Fibre Broadband using Docsis 3.0 Modem.
After evaluating the price, I noticed them servicing me almost at the same price as my 5 Mbps plan. Only difference being, my highspeed download limit was reduced to 25 gb from the current 30 gb.
I took the plunge after they were waiving off installation charges for a limited period of time.
Advantages:
Hathway has a very supportive customer care at least in Bangalore. They have been very prompt in responding to my emails.
Only once during my call I had to escalate, else every time they resolved my problems with billing or technical issues at a reasonable time frame(less than a day or two).
Disadvantages:
While testing using speednet, this network is not actually giving me the promised speed. The current range while testing over the past 1 week is 14 Mbps to 19Mbps. Having said that, I understand this is sufficient for a HD Streaming video. I don't play games, so very high definition is out of my limits.
Other considerations for people in Bangalore: ACT Broadband which is the first group to offer promised speed.
