Hathway Broadband - Incompetent and Liar company

Conclusion - Don't fall prey to Hathway's aggressive and inducing advertising and don't opt for their broadband services at all for any reason.


After getting influenced by Hathway's advertising and claims, I opted for its broadband connection and made the payment on Aug 28, 2015. Immediately I had to follow up on getting the service activated. Finally, it got activated on Aug 30.


Soon thereafter, there were issues wrt the frequent downtime and I had to call multiple times to complain about the same very frequently.


This was a prepaid plan and I noticed that I need to renew the same by Sep 27 for the next month. I immediately started calling their customer service number and they kept re-assuring that this would be sorted. After 7-10 days, customer service told me to write an email for resolving this. Then started the chain of email complaints.


Every time one writes an email complaint, one can be absolutely assured that no body would read it but just send a template response. So, with that issue still unresolved, wef Sep 22(that's when I first noticed, could started earlier) Hathway's internet became completely unavailable due to some "Technical Issues". I complained about the same but the issue was never resolved and after making too much hue and cry all the company would say that they are working on resolving this issue and the service would be restored shortly. I continuously asked them to compensate for all the lost time due to this ongoing downtime and also for the difference of initial 2-3 days.


This was going on for a week and then finally On September 28, I was told that my account is inactive since I did not make the payment for the renewal on Sep 27. Now it was a prepaid plan and I had already paid for one month out of which I got service for hardly 20 days that too with repeated down times and a customer like me is forced to spend on making numerous calls for making complaints. Also, since the internet service may be required for carrying on one's profession or business, this had other consequences as well.All my complaints/ requests are falling on deaf ears and this causes a lot of frustration and mental agony as well.Would strongly suggest not to opt for Hathway Broadband services.
