I am not sure if I should blame the overall societal culture or the education systems, or may be it is our dark/hidden desire to appreciate fictions which do have not any value and that such books only are a supplement to tabloids.
All of us somewhere in our hearts do believe that any literary work based on non-fictional events reflect the true society, but somewhere we get lost in the weird web of such non classy, shabby and unrealistic books.
What is disheartening is the fact that such books still perform better in the market than many other quality ones. no I am not against the author or the readers, but lamenting on the deterioration in average taste of our society that is killing and will ultimately leave us a goblet of gossip hunters. creativity & curiosity should be limited (as against the basic nature of humans), but if we analyze the innovations/output of all human curiosity, all of them are only making us more robotic/insensitive/inhumans. the implications are huge as now one is only happy reading abt some character flying with his stick on trying to protect civilizations rather than reading & talking about the realities that face us which will define our real future.
