Something wicked this way comes... Review on Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban Movie

Before starting, I must say that I have never thought of giving a movie a rating of 5/5. However, I almost gave this one a full mark !! It's only after I thought about it, did I receive it didn't quite deserve the full mark. However, this has come very very close to getting it.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Askaban

The movie, directed by Alfrendso Cuarson, has Daniel Radcliffe as Harry, Rupert Grint as Ron and Emma(drool !)Watson as Hermione. As with any Harry Potter product, the movie released with tremendouse hype. And, for me, all the waiting was worth it !!

The Plot

Harry Potter has turned thirteen and can now be officially be called a teenager. However, teenager brings with it a nasty surprise. Harry escapes from the Dursley's house, accidentally blowing up his Aunt Marge (don't ask !). However, this year at Hogwarts is going to be dangerous. Sirius Black, the deranged murderer, has broken out of Azkaban prison and is looking for Harry.

Harry evidently decides to have nothing with Harry. But he learns a terrifying secret about Black which makes resolve to kill Black himself if he ever finds it.

Acting

Dan as Harry is magnificient. This guy is really good. The climax scenes are great.

Rupert as Ron doesn't have too huge of a role this time. He provides some good comic relief.

Emma as Hermione (drool !) is super. She has a major role in the climax of the film and handles it perfectly. But for me, the best scene was where she punched Draco Malfoy !!

Gary Oldman as Sirius Black is one perfect choice. Even though, he comes in towards the climax, he acts with gutso. However, if he showed some more passion, it would have done even better.

Other actors like Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy), Micheal Gambon (Dumbledore), David Thewlis (Lupin) are right in place.

Pros

Everything !! Acting is super, background music good and need I say anything of the plot ??

Cons

Found after long thought. Anyway, a non reader of the books would be very much confused as the directors twist a lot of the story. Also many important scenes have been cut (such as the revelation of Harry's dad being an Animagus)

Super film !! Watch at the slightest opportunity !!
