I am a big fan or should I say Khaitan fan of J K Rowling's wonder kid and have read all his books from The Sorcerer's Stone to The Order of the Phoenix.
I have never missed a first day first show movie of any of Harry Potters movies. The recent movie of the third part of the series Prisoner Of Azkaban mind blowing though it was, somehow I felt did not match up to the book. As Karana23 rightly pointed out, the quidditch match which was the main essence of the magical world was abruptly cut short and if I remember correctly from the book, there was one more match that the movie has not shown.
I know it is quite difficult to make the movie as the book but somehow I felt the second quidditch match could have been shown. Also the main part of Harry's past, his fathers have not been described enough. The Marauder's map for e.g was made by the Padfoot, Moony,Wormtail and Prongs. Why these names came was revealed in the book and that when Harry made his patronus why it took the form of a stag.
Again it was because his father was an animagus who used to turn into a stag and was called Prongs by his friends. These things were not exactly shown in the movie.
The dementors too did not live up to their original description. (But then maybe I am too biased after reading the book and my imagination is different from what I saw)
David Thewlis and Gary Oldman were superb in their characters as Professor Lupin and Sirius Black and Radcliffe did manage to capture the essence of Harry Potter in the book. so did Grint and Watson as Ron and hermione.
Overall it was an amazing movie and my advice to those who have not seen it yet. U BETTER NOT MISS IT
