P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 3pt 0in".We have visited Harihareshwar and Diveagar on 6th and 7th Nov 2009. I have already visited both the places twice. That tiem we either had one day visit or we had stayed in homely accommodations.  So this time we had decided to stay in MTDC Resort in Harihaeshwar. In earlier visits I have seen the MTDC resort from outside, so was very curious to stay there, but unfortunately I never got bookings there whenever I had planned my visits. This time we have made ther prior reservations, so we go the bookings for Deluxe Tent house.

P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 3pt 0in".We started on Saturday morning 7 AM from Pune. The travel from Pune is via Mulshi, Tamhini Ghat, Mangaon, Mhasala, and Harihareshwar. Around distance is about 175 kms. Pune to Mulshi road is not that great. I was driving my Maruti SX4 and never liked the driving on that road. Tamhini ghat is very scenic and it was after monsoon so it was very green (as in this year, it rained in October too). Tamini  road condition is not very good. From Tamhini to Mangaon road was good, especially from Tamini via Nizampur section. The road from Mangaon to Harihareshwar  also good.

P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 3pt 0in".After about 175 kms of journey we reached Harihareshwar MTDC resort at around 11:30 AM. Resort is good. Location of resort is Excellent. Its at the end of small hill and sea is at the bottom of hill. We had taken the Deluxe tent house rooms, so those rooms were located at the end of hill and we had a sea view from our cottages. I will highly recomment you to stay in these rooms only as rent is not much compared to other options in MTDC and sea view from room is really really amzing.

P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 3pt 0in".After checking in resort we had lunch in MTDC restaurant. The restaurant is open restaurant, and had gr8 sea view from there. You will really enjoy the scenic view from there. Service in MTDC restaurant is bit slow, usually it will take around 45 mins (min) to get whatever you had ordered. But you wont realize because of the location and view from there. We had Fish (Surmai and Pomfret) there. The rates were on higher side, but taste was really good.

P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 3pt 0in".The beach near resort is ok (Not as great as Dive Agar, but decent to enjoy and safe). There was not much crowd, and beach was very clean.

P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 3pt 0in".Next day we visited Harihareshwar Temple. The temple in Harihareshwar is called “Dakshin Kashi”, as it has famous lord Shiva temple. Its highly recommended t visit the temple as well as Pradakshina behinfd the temple. A small climb behind the Harihareshwar temple & then steep descend take to a narrow gorge. The rocks on both sides are eroded by waves & beautiful designs are formed. We were very fortunate, as we have seen Dolphins in the sea while we were having Pradakshina. Almost we have seen 15 dolphins that time. The Sea near to temple is rough and not safe for playing and swimming.

P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 3pt 0in".After that we have left for Dive agar. Harihareshwar- Dive agar ride is about 35 kms and takes about 1 hour to complete. Before starting from Harihareshwar we have placed order for lunch in Suvarnaganesh Khanaval in Dive agar. Usually its recommended to place the order for lunch or dinner as you wont get it upfront.

P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 3pt 0in".

P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 3pt 0in".We visited Dive agar Ganesh temple  and had lunch in Suvarna ganesh Khanaval. Lunch Cost was Rs.130/- for fish, Rs.120/- for chicken (Sorry we didn’t had Veg so no idea about that). I personally did not like food there, so I wont recommend to go to Suvarnaganesh Khanaval. Its expensive and food was not that special. On earlier visits to Dive agar I had lunch at Mrs. Potnis’s house and that was really great. So I will recommend to go there in stead of Suvarna ganesh Khanaval. Try to avoid Suvarna ganesh Khanaval.

P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 3pt 0in.Dive agar beach is really good. Beach is safe & very clean. One can play hours on the beach. Dive agar beach is around 4-5 KM long and white sand. So one can even drive on that.

P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 3pt 0in".

P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 3pt 0in".At 4:15 PM we had started our journey towards Pune. As I mentioned earlier I did not like Tamini route, so this time we had taken different route. Our route to home was,   Dive agar – Mhasal – Mangaon –(NH-17) – Pali – Khopoli – Take Express Way – Pune. This route is bit longer, it will add another 45 kms, but road is good and time taken will be around same. We reached Pune by my SX4 at 8:30 Pm, so roughly taken 4.15 hours by this route.

P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 3pt 0in">.

P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 3pt 0in".highlight of costs:

P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 3pt 0in".MTDC Resort Harihareshwar - Deluxe Tent house - AC- Rs 1800+ Taxes / Per room -- Recommended to stay

P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 3pt 0in">MTDC Restaurant Harihareshwar-Lunch is expensive, Pomfret - Rs 200~350, Surmai - @ Rs 150~200.. Expesive still Recommended to eat.
