Harihareshwar and Diveagar….The two most beautiful beaches I have ever been…!! The beautiful beaches of Harihareshwar and Diveagar are one of the finest beaches in Konkan. The town of Harihareshwar is known for its tranquil and serene beach.
The temple of Lord Harihareshwar is also quite famous. Diveagar is an ancient village full of history. After the Golden Ganesha idol was excavated and established for worship in the old village temple around 8 yrs back it has become a popular tourist destination.
The Drive:
Harihareshwar is just 175 Kms from Pune, so u can plan your trip in any weekend. I had a chance to visit these beaches twice once with my friends and once with my family. The Drive through the mountains is very adventurous and it presents you with the most beautiful landscapes you can ever imagine. High mountains on one side and deep valleys on the other side, believe me u will get u goosebumps..
U will find trees of many varieties on your way starting from Mango, Jamun, jackfruit to beautiful season flowers of all colours..We got down on our way to have our share of mangoes. It’s so much fun to pluck mangoes from the trees and eat unlike going to the market and buying them as we always do J. During our entire drive through the mountains we experienced heavenly breeze..pure....pollution free which we people living in big cities like Pune hardly get to experience….
About the beaches:
Now coming to the beaches of Harihareshwar and Diveagar. These two are one of the most beautiful, non commercialized beaches which I had ever seen. Surrounded by mountains with coconut trees, these beaches presents you with the most picturesque view u can ever imagine. Diveagar has a long stretch of sand beach. The beach here is simply magnificent and view of the sunset is even better. Both the beaches are calmed serene yet full of life. Sitting in the beaches listening to the waves of the sea and admiring the beauty of the sunset relieves you off all your stress .You forgot all your tensions back at home and office.
Overall it was an excellent trip and I strongly recommend everyone staying in and around Pune to definitely visit these beaches once. I believe away from the hustle bustle of the city life these beautiful beaches breathe new energy, enthusiasm and vigor in your day to day life.
