Haridwar or devbhoomi I visited there in 2013 it was an awesome experience that I had .

Haridwar, by name itself it denotes that, it is a Gateway to God. It is a breathtaking city, replete with temples, is a magnet for religious pilgrims from all over the globe. Religious festivals hold even further draw and tourists can't helped but compelled by the city's aura of intense spirituality. Haridwar is one of the seven holiest places of the Hindus, located on the banks of River Ganga. Very nice and clean city. It is understood that, there are about 4000 temples in Haridwar. In spite of so many temples, and lakhs of devotees visiting daily, the are of all temples, Ganga river, and ghats are clean and neat. At Har ki paidi, Ganga aarati is performed everyday in the evening, which is watched by many devotees. It is a very nice and memorable view to watch this aarati. We visited Chandi Devi temple and Mansa Devi temple also. Both these temples are on a top of hill and we had gone there by cable car. The Arial view seen through cable car is very beautiful. The other temples we visited were Daksh Temple, HariHar Ashram and Pawan Dham temple. We also visited Yoga guru Ramdev Baba's Patanjali Ashram, which is located about 15 KMs from Haridwar, near Roorkee. It is a very big and nicely developed building, where Ayurvedic College and Hospital is also run. Good Food is also available at subsidised rate in a Canteen run by the Paranjali ashram.

A Haridwar is a place very many historical sites are situated & there are many temples. River ganga is also good. We spent good holidays with friends and family. They are many place were you can spend holidays. And there are many restaurant and very good food was available. Many tourist come here to pray.

Propitiously located at the point where the Ganges emerges from the Himalaya, Haridwar( also called Hardwar) is Uttarakhand's holiest Hindu city, and pilgrims arrive here in droves to bathe in the fast-flowing Ganges. The sheer number of people gathering around Har-ki-Pairi Ghat give Haridwar a chaotic but reverent feel. Within the religious hierarchy of India, Haridwar is much more significant than Rishikesh, an hour further north, and every evening the river comes alive with flickering flames as floating offerings are released onto the Ganges. It's especially busy during the Yatra( pilgrimage) season from May to October, and is the site of the annual Magh Mela religious festival.

Haridwa's main street is Railway Rd, becoming Upper Rd, which runs parallel to the Ganges canal( the river proper runs further to the east) . Generally only cycle-rickshaws are allowed between Laltarao Bridge and Bhimgoda Jhula( Bhimgoda Bridge), so vehicles travel around the opposite bank of the river.

In my experience haridwar is the best tourist place for religious and beauty lover people .

I recommmend to everyone to have a visit to there.

Thank you
