If you are the parent of a pre-adolescent boy or a teenager who likes to read mysteries, steer him towards this classic series. The characters are wholesome, and there is no bad language, which leads some to call them ''bland'' but the Hardy Boys are honest, clean and fun to read.
I was thrilled to see reprints of this series on bookshelves. I took a look, and sure enough, the familiar characters were there. And they were as polite and respectful to their elders and authority as ever without being golly gee whiz cardboard characters. The mystery situations are interesting, and the chapters are not too long or too short.
My ten year old loves Harry Potter, but when he wants a good mystery read, he reaches for one of these.I think his review says it best. Fun, interesting, and a classic to be shared.
