This is a lovely birthday story aimed at the kindergarten- first grade young reader level. This is a simple engaging story with a wise ending. It can easily to read to younger children who can not read yet either. It will hold their attention as well.
It helps youngsters think differently about a proper birthday party for a senior citizens. It makes children and adults alike think in a unique way. It is recommend and listed on my accelerated reader lists that are offered for kids who are above their level of reading for their age. That is how we found this little gem.
Happy Birthday Unicorn is part of the sweet pickles series. The author has several books that helps teach kids different learning concepts. Her stories are entertaining yet meaningful. Our other two favorite by this author is Little Owl, Here's your towel and Little Kangaroo, I love you. We would recommend both of these books as well.
