Hollywood has given us lots of animated movies like Lion King, Aladdin, Shrek, Madagascar, The Incredibles, Chicken Run, Brother Bear, Tarzan etc (The list is endless!). Now Bollywood is not left far behind in the field of animated movies! Bollywood gets updated and totally satisfying with Hanuman!
It was a time on earth when devils had totally destroyed the lives of humans. At this time, Lord Vishnu takes birth in the form of Prince Rama of Ayodhya while Lord Shiva takes birth in the form of Hanuman, as a son of Anjani, a female Apsara and Vayudev, the Wind God. Slowly Hanuman grows up. As a child, Hanuman was very mischievous and naughty. He would harass sadhus who are in deep concentration doing tapasya. Once he even towards the sun to eat it, thinking it was a fruit!
On the insistence of Vayudev and Anjani, Indra, Suryadev and other gods came together forward and gave Hanuman great powers. No Hanuman became powerful. Fire, Water and death now could not overcome him. He can transform his body to take the smallest form or attain the biggest form of life!
On the other hand, Prince Rama gets married to Sita. They were, along with Rama's step brother Laxman, living in forests in a very difficult condition. At this time, Ravana, the king of Lanka, abducted Sita and took her to his kingdom. While Rama and Laxman were searching for Sita, they came across Hanuman and Sugriva, the king of monkeys. They joined hands with Rama and helped them in finding Sita. Sugriva ordered the monkeys to search in all the directions for Sita.
At last, they came to knew about Sita. But there was one difficulty-How will the whole 'vaanar sena' cross the sea? They had no boats and constructing a bridge would take a long time. So Rama prayed to the sea god and on the third night, the sea god came forward and told Rama to bring stones from forest, to wirte ''Shri Rama'' on all stones and use it to build a road to Lanka. He also told that the stones would not sink into the sea but would float on it. At last, the army of monkeys made the road. Then Rama defeated Ravana, took back Sita and made kind-hearted and humble Vibhishana, brother of Ravana as the king of Lanka. In this war of mankind, Hanuman helped Rama a lot and without him, Rama?s success would not had been possible.
Mukesh Khanna's voice as Hanuman is great. His style of talking and describing is amazing. V G Samant's direction is superb. Tapas Relia's music and Satish Mutatkar's lyrics is excellent. The song ''Mahabali Maharudra'' is great and energizing'' The best thing is the animation. Hanuman is so nicely made that it looks as a Disney animated movie!
On the whole, Hanuman is a wonderful movie and must be seen by all the children of India. It is released at the right time as the exams are just over and no other blockbuster has been released along with it. It will create huge profits till November 1. But after the release of Kyon Ki, Garam Masala and Shaadi No.1 on November 2, its collections may come crashing down
