Before we take stress, we have to give it a little thought that WHAT IS STRESS?! Stress - In mechanics - tension! And why do we take tension? Yes, go a head and think why? Hmm still wondering? Well, some might say: “cause of problems” and who creates problems? Hmm Human mind! And who solve the problems? Hmm Human mind!


A wise saying by someone that:


'Every problem has a solution, then why should one take tension? And if there is no solution then it is useless to take tension.'


Stress is not always bad. It has also good sides.  Different people have different kinds of stress.  A child comparing to a teenager or an adult has a different kind of stress. A middle age person comparing to an old man or woman feels a different kind of stress. It also depends on what kind of a profession you have.  A school student feels different kind of stress than a college student or a university student. A journalist feels a different kind of stress than a school teacher or a house wife.


SYMPTOMS:


To check it out that you have stress, move your neck slowly to the right side and then to left side and put your hands around your neck while moving, and feel the pressure.  If your muscles are relax and normal then it means you have no extra stress, but if your muscles are not relax and you feel burden or strain then you are having stress. It is the easiest way to check your stress.


REASONS:


We take a lot of tension and it results a serious damage.  It's in human nature to take tension and we can’t free our mind of thinking.  Sometimes people say; “It is easy to say rather than to do” but I don't believe it.  I believe that “if it can be said so it can also be done”.  Main stressful thing is “Deadlines”.  Some people can deal with deadlines easily because they have faith in their selves that no matter what happen they’ll achieve their target within time.  However, some people become tense and rather putting their all efforts to get the work done, they take tension instead and can’t utilize their time efficiently.  So basically, people who get tensed by deadlines should learn to manage time in regard of avoiding the stress.


POSITIVE SIDES OF STRESS:


In some aspects of life normal stress teach you to handle your emotions and to grow your knowledge within certain area of life.  It makes you mature decision maker and sometimes you learn many different things by having stress which leaves you with a good experience thereafter. Good sides of stress can affect different people differently.  So, it’s not fair to imply all pro’s and con’s on yourself.


GETTING RID OF STRESS:


However, today you can find many different ways and techniques for getting rid of stress but there are some basic things if we do in daily life that can spare us time and less tension.


-              Basic stress exercise:


Just like you move your neck to check the pressure and muscles wheatear you have stress or not. Same is the procedure to release the stress.  Neck exercise: Move your neck once to the right hand side and then to left hand side. Stand or sit(depends on you) straight while doing this exercise. Move your neck upwards and then downwards thereafter.(5 times) Once in a day! It is the easiest way to relax your muscles around your neck. Upper back & lower back exercise+ arms & legs: Just do it like you were use to do it in School.  Firstly, move your both elbows backwards and then forward.  Thereafter, stretch your arms one by one like a chicken opening her wings. Then stand straight and still and bow downwards and touch your feet just like you are trying to pick something up.  And come back upwards thereafter.  Repeat it 2 or 3 times. Once in a day! It’s very helpful.  These are the easiest tips and things to do against stress.




  • Work Out:




However, work out is the best thing against stress.  Work out helps in relaxing your muscles and keep your body parts active and gives you a good feeling after working out.  People who do work out know this feeling very well.  You feel relax, happy and more active after a good work out. It erase everything else on your mind and makes you relax and happy.  So it’s highly recommended against stress.




  • Physiotherapy:




Third but less affected option is that you can consult a physiotherapist.  Physiotherapy can help you in the same way as if you do work out.  However, I personally think that work out is better than Physiotherapy.  It is more expensive than work out and can’t be done everyday.  However, a good, light work out can be done 7 days a week.


There are many other ways depending on what kind of stress you have. You can talk to a good listener; can go out for a walk in evening. If you think you are smart enough then you can sit quite in out doors and think over and solve your issues yourself.  You can find a good hobby or can do something which makes you happy or carefree e.g. dance, yoga, meditation, poetry, sketching, drawing, singing, playing any instrument, running, cooking, watching cartoons, listening to good music or taking bath.  There are many options. Why do you think a hobby is important for one? It is important to control your emotions. Being extra smart, extra creative can be a factor of having stress as well. If you see an artist, he plays an instrument to control his emotions.  He can relieve his stress. A dancer and a poet do the same thing. A poet writes down his thoughts and feelings and his creation turns into an art. A dancer listens to music and pays attention to it and forgets about other things on mind. When music touches his soul then his motion turns into an art. That’s why it is important for a human being to have a useful hobby for himself to control his emotions and to feel happy about something.


All you have to keep in mind is that you can do anything you want.  There is not any single moment where you consider yourself helpless.  You can help yourself by knowing yourself.
