Depression, depression now ain’t this word gone synonyms with our current era, and anti depressants likewise. I would say the by product of the world we live in and breathe everyday, it has gone so fast that we wished we had two more hands and even a clone to have worked with, that’s after dolly/molly(the cloned sheep) appeared on. The causes of depression may be many but all have one single father, the despair of not meeting our materialistic goals(pay cut, unfulfilled relationship, money lost, job stress).

Let me tilt the angle of the mirror for a bit, somebody has rightly said happiness is a relative state where one realizes the things according to the need of the hour, the main thing to understand is that there would be hardly any soul on this earth which would be without any worries. From the richest man on this planet who worries about getting more and keeping what he currently has, to the one who has none and worries all his/her life to get there. Life is all about it. For those who are always happy I can only say to suffice that they are above this materialistic world; now that does take the solutions too far. What we must thus accept is whether the current situations is worth the worry or not. Better still let the things take its course and try whatever you can from your side and be an optimist if nothing more then a realist at least, that is what I try to accomplish from my side if it doesn’t get me to that hap-hap-happy state it does give me a neutral perspective towards the situation. And get me through the rest of the day along. As far as cribbing about your individual problems only one quote comes to my mind and that says it all'I once complained that I had no shoes.until I met a man with no feet.' We all have our fair share of problems and either we can go down fighting with it, or learn to realize the same and accept and harness what we have in every way we can. All these blah-blah does not mean we should be seeing things from a rosy lens only, their are times to be sad and times to be happy its just that we should get in terms with our lives and have it in our control not the other way round.

Well all that goo gaa does sound great but somebody sure would be preaching me just now “hello dear it DOES NOT HELP”. For those times when all else fails here’s what to do:

# Find a friend and let it all out when run out of options go get yourself a mirror.

# Try hitting the pillow, consider him your boss who just denied you your pay rise, wrestle with him give him/her a jab or two, maybe even strangulate him(err I mean the pillow); for better results try asking your boss for a pic of his/her, get some facsimiles out of it and pin it on your pillow; easy does it you don’t wanna get depressed seeing how much you are spending on your pillows each month.

# Take a long soothing walk down the aisle, a park would do just fine; just walk don’t rush, unless of course its just outside your bus stop.

# Got any favorite pastimes(hobbies, books) indulge yourself, better still take a head long dive in it.

All done go to the nearest movie store and rent yourself a comedy and I do mean the best kind Laurel n Hardy, Charlie Chaplin nothing serious mind you. Before closing, its just that life is full of exclamation marks in various sizes of L-M-XL and colors from blue to red. And I think one must just enjoy them instead of banging your head with this exclamation stick, isn't it!
