One of her most haunting stories, Agatha Christie's Hallowe'en Party is a must read. Hercule Poirot is brilliant! The characters are etched beautifully. From boastful Joyce to fairylike Miranda.
This story captures the danger of Narcissusium, and of too much love.
The story revolves around :
Michael Garfield, a beautiful architect whose only desires were money, comfort and beauty,
Mrs. Drake, a widow who made the mistake of crossing all borders for love,
Miranda, a beautiful girl whose only human friend was Joyce and whose favourite place was the quarry garden designed by Michael,
Joyce, a braggart and misfit whose boasts brought about her death,
Mrs.Butler, Miranda's enchanting mother,
Mrs.Ariadne Oliver, Hercule Poirot's apple-eating, author friend,
And Hercule Poirot, whose sharp grey cells solves the series of murders.
The book is one of my favourite Agatha Christie books ending on a hopeful note. She is a brilliant writer and no one could do justice to this book as she has.
For the story, you have to read this book, there is no fun in reading a book whose plot you already know, is there? So do read this one, it is sure to haunt your thoughts for some time.
