Review on one of my fav. movies!. Review on Haatim Tai

I just happened to browse through the non-current film section (H) and I saw Haatimtai and I was sooooo happy that I'll be able to read review on my favourite movie!! but, I was totally disappointed as it showed - be the first to write the review!! I wonder whether I am the only person to see the movie!!!?!??!?

Anyways.. I'll begin with giving you a brief background about Haatim Tai!:).. In 1947 first Haatim Tai movie was released (there are 3 haatim tais), it was in black and white! It was directed by G.R.Sethi.. Then in 1956, another Haatim Tai was created by Homi Wadia.. (please dont scratch your head... this actually happened! i'm not lying!!!) and then.. in 1990 came the masterpiece... Haatim Tai Starring Jeetendra, Sonu walia, Sangeeta Bijlani, Raza Murad, Satish Shah, Amrish Puri and one and only Alok Nath....

Now how the movie starts?... Please forgive me if you start getting headache!!.. Hatim's father is some emperor.. and on his birth, Yamen, the astrologer predicts(??) that Haatimtai is one name in the world of generosity which will remain the world as along as the world exists...(?!?!?!?)...so right from childhood...he was extremely generous... now.. as and when he grew young.. his generousity also grew.. so he used to give alms to poor people..

One fine day, he sees Marium(daughter of some trader) in the queue.. and on being asked why she was there.. she says that she was in love with someone but her father, Barzakh(Raza Murad) opposed the wedding.. So, Haatim Tai goes to him and asks him the reason for being so cruel!(??) Raza Murad now reveals some mysterious story about him trying to rape a fairy(pari husna or gulnar or something like that)!...(I fall off the couch laughing).. And then..she turns herself into a stone.. but before that, she curses him that his daughter wont be happy in her married life!!(???).. but, 'agar koi khuda ka farishta aa kar in 7 sawaalo ko pura kar dega to mere mein jaan aa jaayegi aur tumhari beti khush ho payegi'

Now, these seven questions are so mysterious and so difficult that no one was able to solve them.. and so now.. velvet clad jeetendra decides to go on a mission to solve them so that the pari can get back her life and marium can marry her beloved.. so now, with Allah with his side.. he sets off on the voyage.. accompanied by the faithful servant Nazrul(Satish Shah)

Now, If I start to write about the seven mysteries.. you people will come and shoot me.. so, i'll not write about that... but I just cant refrain myself from mentioning the 'adventures' they face..

Jeetu meets pari bano (sangeeta bijlani), the twin of the stone pari.. and she gives him a flute!(??) so that he can call her whenever he is in trouble.. and she can help him!(!!!!)

In the first mystery Haatim was entangled between magic and beauty.. in one of the mysteries.. there are tree trunks.. with red bulbs representing eyes.. and branches representing hands.. and the roots, representing feet.. they come walking towards haatim.. but suddenly they see something and turn back.. (now I know how the ramsay brothers got inspiration of using red bulbs in place of bhoot's eyes) Then, in one of the mysteries.. there are dead bodies coming alive in graveyard.. and yes! believe it or faint.. these alive dead bodies get food from heaven.. and some bad alive-dead body gets nothing but pearls and precious jewel to eat and blood to drink!(Dont click on close.. read the whole review please)

Then in one of the mysteries.. he comes across an ape woman, actually a princess cursed by some saint.... 'tumhe tumhare jis roop ka ghamand hai, woh ab tumhara nahi rahega.. log tumhe dekhke nazar ghuma denge' and she turns into an apewoman!.. then some old woman turns into beautiful lady and what not!!

But wait.. the last one was extremely difficult... he comes face to face with Kalmaq(amrish puri) the greatest magician, who thinks he is the God... and he ties him to a magical chains.. and to top his cruelty.. he burns pari bano's feathers... but he is eventually killled when some pari 'tote ki dok marod deti hai'... coz 'uski jaan us tote mein hai'

But.. you must be wondering where did alok nath come into picture.. well.. well.. welll.. surprise surprise.. he is the king of paristan.. you'll see him in blue velvet something.. with silver crown and silver wand.. he curses pari bano for getting involved with a human, hatim!(?!?!?!?!) but he eventually agrees coz hatim gets his daughter, that stone pari.. to life... he also happens to have a son.. when alok was trying to harm hatim by poking his eyes with red hot iron.. God gets angry at him and he takes away 'aakhon ki roshni' from his son.. but when hatim prays to God, he is God's farishta.. dont forget.. , he magically starts seeing again!

Now in the end.. Jeetu weds sangeeta.. and marium weds her beloved.. and all is well that ends well..
