HTC phones might not be known to many of us in India. But the truth is HTC has been manufacturing PDA phones for O2, HP, DOPOD and other mobile co.'s. I was looking for a good enterprise phone and shortlisted Nokia E 61i, SE P1i. P1i was abt 20k and E61i abt 16k. Then my friend suggested to have a look on HTC phones. After researching I found that these are good phones with nice features. I saw P3400 & touch. But since I was using Nokia 3230, I didn't want to jump straight away to a very high end phone. I checked the P3400 and found it nice to hold in hand. It has a larg 2.5" screen.

The plastic used is soft touch. The camera gives out fine picture quality. I have put in a 2 GB card which stores music and photos. The battery back up is ok and lasts for 2 days only. Network reception is fine and voice clarity is good. you can put MP3 as ring tones and it allows you to use word powerpoint & excel. I faced only one issue that is my photos & music got deleted from the card but since that was an external memory card you can't pinpoint on the phone. Essentially, I would recommed this phone as a start up PDA at affordable prices.

It costed me Rs 14000, but the prices have come down to Rs 12500 minus the memory card which is additional expense.

Hi guys, an update after using the phone for four months. The device is running fine. It has not hanged even for a single time. I have played songs, clicked photos, opened word documents, played the inbuilt games on the phone and all well. My friend uses heavily for listening to music but even then it doesn't hang and the battery lasts 2 days. The only irritating issue is that the sync with pc can't happen with Bluetooth. You can transfer & receive files easily using BT but sync doesn't happen. I am not able to troubleshoot this issue.

Finally, the device attracts people and many have asked me about it and 2-3 friends have even bought it. Therefor, a good buy.
