I am also the victim of HTC India's harassment while looking for service! I bought an HTC 8S phone and it's screen got broken in a weeks time. I took it to the local service service center on 29th Jan, 2013 for repair. They said they are trying to get it fixed "locally" and after an week told that the screen is not available, so it needs to be sent to their Delhi Service center! I agreed and later on 12th of Feb, 2013 they sent I to Delhi.
I was told that I will get a call from the service center regarding repair cost estimates...but nothing happened. After a follow up with their customer care toll free number after waiting for an week, I got the repair estimates on 22nd Feb, 2013. I immediately approved the quote by calling them and by emailing them. Now the real game begins. After waiting for an week, now they are saying that they do not have the screen and they even can not provide me with any date by which the phone will be repaired.
Since I followed up, they made a mockery of it by telling me that my case has been escalated and I will get called from the escalation team etc etc. The only thing that these escalation team folks do is to tell that they will get back in next 48 hours with a resolution and that 48 hours never passes! another funny thing is now if I call the customer care , once they get my phones IMEI number, simply puts me on hold for more than 10-15 minutes and then say they will look into the issue and I will get a call back, I don't know when I will get my phone back!
HTC might me making some real good phones, but friends, please be aware, if you buy an HTC phone, never expect any service from these folks. I am just wondering the in my case, I was ready to pay for the repair...what might be the experience of people who are claiming warranty!!!
