Probably this review comes way too late, while HTC Magic has moved on to many other models since then. But still it may be worth its salt for someone who looks for a review. I've been using this phone for over a year now, as it was sort of a gift for much discounted price from a friend. The only plus points I see of this all is its physical features - design, size, touch screen sensibility & ease of handling.
The camera is an absolute waste, as there is no flash at all. And it captures less than clear photos most times, even in bright light, as it tends to get very shaky. Music is nothing to write about too. Speakers are pretty ordinary, and hardly any effect of HTC you would expect. Start-up time is too long considering the times we are living in, and for that I hate to switch off this phone for any app installation. Signal strength is also very average, and loses battery very fast in places of less than moderate strength. This, despite the fact that I have used more than 4-5 different sim-cards in last 1yr, across 4-5 different countries & networks.
Just one single mini-USB slot for charging & headphone. So if you are charging your phone, you cannot hear songs, and vice-versa. Pity ! (Probably HTC design team never hear songs on their phones).
Not really a great value for money, as the primary features of a smart-phone are music, camera and signal quality - all of which are just average in this phone. Would not recommend to anyone.
