Nightmare experience with HSBC call centre

HSBC the world's local bank.but are they providing world class services to their customers?


Definitely no. Today I had a bad experience with its call centre. It began when I called the call centre to enquire about the minimum pymt due for my credit card.


I called in the morning and the machine kept telling me that “all our lines are bz”.for this call I waited for 4mins+ but to no avail.


I tried again during lunch time.i received the same answer .another 10 minutes on hold with no answer.fine.again frustrated


when I went back home at 9pm, I called again. The same answer.”all our line are bz”.you will be attended "SHORTLY". I waited for 10mins.I called the toll free number 1-300-88-1388 more than 10 times today.


I was worried that my phone bills will cost me a lot if I had to stay on hold for such long periods. after knowing that its’ a toll free number, I called again and waited up to 20 mins+(on my speakerphone) and surprisingly, the machine kept repeating that I will be attended "Shortly". This time I really got furious!.


Are there real operators being placed at the call centre to assist customers?


Just imagine if I want to make report for the lost of my credit card.losing the card is already a big frustration, on top of that it frustrates me more that i unable to reach the call centre to lodge a report


Finally after waiting from morning(9am-26th Dec), my call was answered at 12.04am(27th Dec 09).
