Hi everybody
This incident happened few months back with me. One day I received a call from HSBC bank saying that an amount of Rs. 14000/- was unpaid on my credit card. I thought somebody is making mirchi murga of me, as I do not have any credit card of HSBC BANK or any relationship with this bank.
On further clarification he said that the name is Manish Vaidya and mine is Manish Rathi. The only similarity that we shared was same name and same phone no. (God knows how phone no.)
From that day the harassment increased. Collection agents started regularly calling me at my residence and then on my mobile day after day. On being confronted as to what the address is they would tell a different address than mine and than I would clarify. They were not in any mood to listen and any possible explanation would fall on deaf ears. The calling continued as usual. I asked them to just clarify from the phone directory no 197 as to what address the present phone no is having, and its no Mr. Vaidya?s address but they are so dumb that they would constantly call again and again.
Latter I got fed up and started giving illus ional answers as the payment was ready and come and collect it if they had the guts and so on. In end I personally went to HSBC bank at Ahmedabad and met one Ms. Stuti to sort out the problem. She had all the records of the follow up done on me in her computer and had the audacity to tell me that why did I started giving positive answerers after first 25 calls!!!
After threatening them of a police complain the calls stopped temporarily. But it would ring again in once in a blue moon. At present I have not received any calls for quite some time and am waiting for them so that I can lodge a formal complain to police.
The language used by the collection agents is quite rough, abusive and disturbing. The HSBC bank would definitely raise their hands when confronted. They should look into this and should apologize to me and their collection agents should recheck the identity of the party they are calling before harassing them. I have vowed not to have any relationship with this bank in future.
