I got my HP tx1009AU more than 1 yr back. After the warranty expired in Nov 28 2008, it stopped booting up. I did send my laptop to the Service Center, they said that the motherboard has problem and should be replaced. They are charging me around 25000 INR.
Don't you think, I can buy a new laptop in such a case, instead of paying HP.
Also, two of my friends have the same model and they got in the same year. Both of them faced the same problem. The problem is world wide. You will get many thread's on the net. Just type "HP not booting up".
I think HP should take back such faulty model's or service such faulty laptops for free.
My advice will be please dont buy any HP Laptop's.
I have rated this product. But dont even like to give any points for this horrible product.
It seems HP has adopted a new way to make money through such faulty product's.
