Why does HP harass its customers ?

I bought a new HP LaserJet 1022 printer in July 2006 because they were offering a free gift with it.


Now, I thought that the purpose of giving a gift is presumably to create customer delight. Perversely, HP does just the opposite !


Claiming a gift should be easy and simple. However, trying to claim this gift is next to impossible, and HP has done it's best to make this very complex for its customers. The redemption process is online,and badly designed.


No one replies to emails or phone calls. Instead of keeping customers happy, this is


an excellent example of how to turn customers off !


No wonder HP in India is doing badly. I'll never buy another HP product in my life.


I even sent a copy of my complaint to the HP President online, but no one replies.


Why does HP make their customers go through such a complex and convoluted


procedure just to redeem a gift ?


Instead of creating goodwill, they are creating a lot of resentment and anger


This is a good example of poor customer service.


Unfortunately, it's hard to get redressal !
