This color laser printer from HP costs about 16, 000 Rupees.
So If you thought it was too good to believe, you were right. The real costs start after you have purchased. They just sold you a rainbow in the sky. Now go and try to touch it.
There are four toners: Black, Blue, Yellow and Magenta. Each costing about 3, 900. If you replace all, it will be 3, 800 X 4 that is about close to the cost of the new printer.
So the big question is whether to buy a new one or to buy 4 new toners. Good question. The answer is, buy new toners. One because you need to hire space to keep the dead body. Second, I was told that the toners that come with the printer are DUMMY toners which means that they will probably last half the life the new ones will.
The total approx. pages printed by all 4 toners: 1, 000
Caution:
If you are buying a HP color laser do the following:
Find out the toners that will be required for replacements.
Walk the market and window shop for all 4 toners. Expect Black and color to cost the same.
Do some math and if it suits your needs to buy a use and throw printer. Go ahead and have your one month of pride.
If you are trying refilling:
The refilling of toner is not always successful.
The scanner and lenses may get dirty after refilling. And after that it is round circle never ending chase. HP will not touch it because you re filled.
Also one thing important. When you read xyz amount of papers as the life of one toner, wake up. By one page, one HP guy told me, it is meant to cover / print 5% of the a4 size paper. I do not know if it is true. But a new buyer will better find this out.
Another problem is over drying of the paper as a result the paper curls up a lot.
The print quality is crisp and good my Rich-man-soon-to-be-an-owner of HP color laser printer. But remember this is a use and throw product so happy using and happy throwing.
