Hp deskjet 1050 all in one printer tempts you to buy it seeing its low price tag(just 3k) but once you fall into the trap, the starts real earning for the company and headache for you. it comes with hp 802 small cartridges(introductory). although company claims them to deliver around 150 pages but it depletes very fast with actual range varies from 70-100 pages of black print and 60-80 pages of colour. Print speed is quite slow and for first page printing it takes quite some time.(firstly lights blink for some time and then it self clean cartridges which eats up lot of ink). printer sound is on the higher side(khaddr khaddr sound while printing). Also it skips taking page inside many a times and thus leaves a unwanted light black spot of rubber rubbing against it(rubber tries to such paper inside printer). many times there is bad quality to print with some line not printed properly. then you are forced to use the "best quality". It prints good but takes almost 10 times more time than a normal printer should take.
Printer sometimes keep on blinking lights but no printing. then you have to restart the computer and printer to get the page printed. sometimes scanner/printer shows error in connecting. twice it was sent to service station for fault rectification in warranty period. first time printing was tilting to left side from top to bottom. and second time it stopped printing at all.
photocopy buttons stops working very soon and then you have to visit a computer mechanic who will apply some fluid to it so that they work again. you cannot see how many photocopy commands have been given(you have to keep remembering how many times photocopy button has been pressed.(press 5 times for 5 copies). scanning area glass gets dirty and some black parts starts to appear from inside.(vertical right side of glass). then again you take it to service station to get it opened and clean from inside.( usual time taken by service station is 3-5 days)
Lots of open spaces for mice(mainly through large gap between paper holding tray and printer main body) to enter into printer and then getting stuck there. once a mice died there and giving such a bad smell that one cannot enter in the room. it took quite a long time to figure out from where it is coming.(not suspecting printer at all)
Cartridges are quite expensive. you have to pay around Rs 500 for small(introductory) black cartridge which will print just 70-100 pages. that is more than Rs 5 per page making it quite expensive printer-a white elephant.
