I made my on-line application for a LAP after the HDFC rep told me that he has verified all my docs and found I was eligible to apply for the loan. He created a log in ID and gave a password to apply for the loan online. While applying the system asked me to pay Rs 5900/-. The rep told me that this amount will be deducted from the total processing fees and reconfirmed that my application has been approved. After making the payment there was no response from HDFC Ltd and the rep was not contactable . After 15 days of submitting the application and making the payment of Rs 5900/- the online status of my application showed " REGRET OUR INABILITY TO PROCESS YOUR APPLICATION" which means that the application was not processed even after 15 days. When I contacted the Rep and asked him for the refund of Rs 5900/- I was told that the amount cannot be refunded and that I can go and complain anywhere. This is a clear case of cheating. Promising to give a loan and taking payment online and then saying that they cannot even process the application is clearly a defraud. People must be very careful when dealing with HDFC Ltd. Other banks or Financial Institutions do not take money before processing the application and will deposit your cheque only after assessing your eligibility. But HDFC Ltd make a promise verbally and then after collecting the payment we find they did not even process the application. The people who work for this company are of low quality who cannot even speak proper English. They openly threat saying that we can go and complaint anywhere. It is really surprising to see a company of
such stature making money by defrauding people. I intend to register a compalint against HDFC Ltd with the Banking Ombudsman to recover my money. People who intend to deal with HDFC Ltd, please be alert and protect your money.
