While HDFC Bank provides sterling services, its sibling or offspring, HDFC Standard Life is a big fraud. Since no one would buy their policies, they use the goodwill of the Bank to force their policies on the Bank Customers. But don't be fooled and never walk into the trap. I was virtually emotionally blackmailed by my Banking RM to buy a policy from them.
The fraud from the HSLIC convinced me he is selling me a single premium policy. I signed the papers in good faith and gave a cheque. But their call centre who is supposed to give a mandatory call told me it was a ten year policy with annual premiums. I registered my protest to the call centre. The HSLIC guy came back(again with my banking RM) and told me that there was no bar if I did not pay my premium after the first year and there were no forfeitures. I naively believed him and withdrew my objections.
The crafty guy filled up an auto-pay instruction on the blank form and now every year the company is fraudulently sweeping money away from my bank account. My complaints asking them to refer to the recording at the call centre and written protest have brought no resolution. Its a FRAUD, FRAUD, FRAUD. Don't let them dupe you. And don't let your Banking RM emotionally blackmail you. You can give his/ her career a boost in different ways than becoming the victim of a fraudulent insurance company.
