This company is riding on the HDFC brand name. The only common thing with that brand is the rampant PSU-like babu attitude.
They have any number of forms to be filled in. Each form has its own terms and conditions. In some cases, the receipts add new clauses and conditions.
In particular, stay firmly away from Unit Linked plans. These are only for those who don't want to get involved in the stock market directly, and prefer to avoid thinking about mutual funds and the many options available there.
As other reviewers have pointed out, term cover is the best option if you really must have life insurance.
Having said that, my experience is still unfolding and I intend to update this review once things conclude. At this time, let's just say that the ethical attitude demonstrated by both the agents and the HDFC SLIC employees shows that they are morally challenged.
