HDFC bank is the one of the most highly rated bank with no reason. They do have charges for every reason other than other private banks.
Although they have a lots of branches in India its only because you need to go to bank for almost every reason. They have restriction of using ATM not only other bank ATM but also at their own ATM which you will find in very few banks.
Services are also not good. They do take lots time process a simple request. Once I asked why a certain amount is deducting from my account it took 4 5 days to tell me why the amount was getting deducted. I had accounts in Kotak city hdfc and standard chartered bank and among all my experience with HDFC was very bad.
