I have been banking with HDFC since over 10 years since they first started and have over the years maintained multiple relationships with them, like car loan, biz loan, current accounts, savings account and credit card accounts.
I am currently based out of india and they blocked my access to my Internet banking and even after several requests that clearly state I am overseas and I have given my overseas telephone number they still send me a standard email that says please call phone banking or visit the branch. I even tried phone banking to no avail as she said I am not calling her from my registered phone number I said I am overseas she said you need to visit the branch! I don't know what brains that staff had.
Another dispute I am having with them is over my mothers credit card, which we stopped paying for since there is a disputed, the collection staff was so rude with her, she is 63 years old and a widow. they speak so rudely she was in shock. when I asked to speak to the person he would not come online and once when he did he spoke rudely to me which made me speak back to him in a rude manner and I told him I wont pay.
Now they have blocked my joint account with my mother and taken all the money from that towards the non payment of the credit card. when I asked them about it they again say call your debt collection officer or come to the bank. It really is a pain dealing with this bank. I am looking for a lawyer to see what actions I can take against them. If anyone has any similar instances, please lets share actions.
I don't want the bank to get away in ripping off honest hard working people.
