I have 2 child accounts in addition my own account with HDFC. Recently I received a letter HDFC Bank stating that my son has become major and asking me to produce documents proving his identity and age, though I already submitted copies of Birth Certificate of my son.
And because of which they came to know that my son has become major.I went with Ration Card, College ID card, School Certificate etc. Bank officer rejected all this. They wanted driving license, passport etc.
Finally when I asked account in a nationalized bank is OK, they said it would be fine. So today I took passbook of my son's account with a nationalized bank.
And I waited from 2:10 to 2:30 and I was advised to wait further.I consider this as deficiency service and going to close the account of my son.
Not only that I am going to close the account of my other son too.Pl don't open child account with HDFC Bank.
