Very good bank - highly recommended. Review on HDFC Bank

I have had accounts in HDFC Bank in various cities (Pune, Calcutta, New Delhi) almost since their inception and apart from some initial hiccups there service has always been good. Of late their ATM network and service quality and systems are very well organised - so there is absolutely no hassles. The cheque books, ATM cards, internet passwords, etc. come on time when you open a new account or order new cheques, etc., requiring hardly any follow ups.

I have accounts at ICICI Bank (pathetic service) and HSBC and I find that HDFC Bank provides a quality standard on par with HSBC if not better, which coupled with their ATM network makes it my bank of choice.

I extensively use Net Banking and find it very convenient. However, there is a scope of increasing services to customers such as:

1. EFT access through net banking

   
   




2. Ability to change maturity renewal instructions of FD

   
   




3. Multi city cheque book facility

   
   




4. Free issue of drafts

   
   

Also I feel that they should not charge the annual fee for the debit cards issued by them.

I would definitely recommend this bank - even over other foreign banks, given their coverage and good service standards.
