Am holding a savings account with HDFC for last three years, and I also have a two wheeler loan from HDFC, and this loan's ECS clearing is scheduled for 5th of every month, so I usually maintain sufficient balance for the loan to get cleared. But this month exactly on 5th the bank as Debited 1000 rupees from my account for some stupid reasons, so my ECS was rejected as the balance was insufficient.

Now I have to bear the ECS returns charges and it also affects my credit ratings. I approached the bank,  I was told that their is a Deemat account opened along with my savings account so they have debited money from my A/C for the Deemat A/C Maintenance charges, and I have no clue what Deemat A/C is all about, it as been opened without my knowledge, Bank also asked me to transfer the ECS to different bank and close this account as I cant use this account for future references as it will reflect as ECS returned in the back statements. I was planning to buy a car with the help of this account now everything is screwed up.

This is not my first experience, three months ago I failed to maintain sufficient balance for my ECS which is my fault so I was ready to pay the ECS return charges, however later on I came to know to that this bank has tried to clear the ECS three times so I have to pay 3 times ECS returns changes which is close to 2000rs. It also affected by credit ratings very badly. If you are holding a HDFC bank account please be very careful.
