I know my first review was not a Ideal start but then I had to put my point across to MS team, so this is official first review on a product. Banking is one industry which has seen a surge growth and India is the biggest destination for the MNC to reach India. I am sure everyone here would be pleased to hear that Barclay's, Merril & GE Bank are some of the MNC who would are starting their Retail Banking operation in India. With Deutsche Bank already into retail Banking , I am sure our very own Indian Banks would improve their standard of operations.HDFC Bank was one of the first private Banking to start in India and being already having the taste of Consumer through their Home Finance Sector they had assumed that we Indians are lazy and we can digest anything that is given to us.
I guess in the last 2 years HDFC Banking as become bad to worse in spite of extensive competition from the pathetic ICICI and the much improved SBI. The services have deteriorated like anything as they are still in the 9.00am to 1.00pm banking world. As far as I know none of the branch of HDFC is open after 2.30pm at least in the main stream city like Delhi & Mumbai. We all expect convenience but HDFC has not given even one bit as they don’t have that many number of ATM's.
ATM
ATM Network has become the crux of most of the Banks but HDFC is sleeping like Kumbakaran as they feel we Indians have got the patience to travel 10kms or more to access their ATM's or may be they are thinking we are fools who would use other Banks ATM machine and they can charge them heavy tax on it.
HIDDEN CHARGES
HDFC is also famous for hidden charges we all know about it as you should not be surprised to see that in your statement some ridiculous charges which in this world you wont be able to understand or think about it. If you want to talk about it then of course you would find a rude and obnoxious employee looking at you as you as if you have done the biggest crime in the world by asking them.
INTERNET BANKING
Their internet banking is as bad as ever, half of the time you would find them down and if anyone would argue with me that its because of my bandwidth then let me tell , I am using 2mbps connection and I don’t think my internet connection is responsible. Every time you would want to access the website either the server is slow or virtually down most of the time.
PHONE BANKING
Phone banking is again a very important aspect of a bank and I was not surprised to see a long wait time and frustrating IVR waiting time and after that a rude customer service people.I guess these guys should wake by now or this big Bubble would burst before ICICI burst. Just an inside story by August 2007 you would see ICICI getting burst out and this is the biggest bubble on the banking scene.
