I had 2 accounts with HDFC bank. In both the account I was the single account holder. I needed to transfer 20k from my first account to second account. I didnt knew how to transfer money through application. And unfortunately I was not carrying the cheque book at that time.
I asked the branch to give me a withdrawal slip so that I can withdraw cash and deposit it in another account. They refused saying there would be audit issues.
I asked them to issue a draft from one account to another but this was also rejected. So I said that I will give an authorization letter to transfer funds from one account to another but that was also rejected saying that they don't take authorization on plain paper.
So in the end it was like that I could not transfer my own money even though I was the account holder. I am with Indian Bank and they provide excellent services as they value the customer.
