HDFC bank : Restrictive banking
I started my relationship with HDFC bank in 1999 and was extremely delighted and once upon a time moved all my relationships to HDFC bank i.e Car loan, Demat account, online trading, corporate account, saving accounts , FDs..
And today I am just ruing the day I decided to do that. HDFC bank is a pain to deal with, The staff is very arrogant, keep on discovering ways to haraas and there is always 50 ppl que wherever you go.
It is frustrating to deal with, all procedures have been done away and the relationship ppl who themselves are very arrogant, are the key boss and the way they treat a customer is like treating a junk.
For example, I wish to transfer some amount from my ahmedabad account to delhi account both are in HDFC bank. First the guys said that it can not be done without cheque whatever the case may be and you should carry the cheque book or maintain a joint bank account, Good advise, finally I managed the cheque book and went to bank they said system is down so it will be done after 4. I said but some cheques may bounce, he said that is HDFC right with a big smile. I said this is restrictive banking, you are not depositing cash, as system is down, and if I deposit cheque, then you will deposit after 4 and right now you are not aware when your systems will start again.
He said we will do whatever is there, so I said then it is restrictive banking, he said yes with a big grin. all this verbatim.
anyway am moving all relationships to new banks and hope others will do the same.
