I'm writing this review after one and a half months of harassment by HDFC. My loan was sanctioned on 30th October and I was promised that by 15th of November everything would be completed. Since it was a resale flat(initial buyer'e loan also was with HDFC), the builder needed its initial NOC back before the process can start. I was told by a guy called Mr Abhishek, working with the Salt Lake, Kolkata branch of HDFC, that once I submit the agreement between me and the seller, the NOC would be released in two days' time. But to my utter frustration, HDFC took more than 2 weeks to release it after the submission of agreement.
The worst part was that whenever I used to call up this guy, I would get a reply that he is busy and would get back to me in 10 minutes, which he never did. 15th of November passed and my case was no where near its completion. Then I was assured that by 30th of November, disbursement will be completed. I again waited patiently. I submitted any and every document asked by bank in the most prompt manner. But when 30th approached and I found my loan to be far from any logical completion, I lost my cool. I called up this guy and told him that if they were so inefficient then I should opt for another bank. I was promised again that by 15th Of december, this would be completed at any cost. Its already 17th of december and I'm still waiting for the disbursement to happen. If there would have been a award for THE MOST INEFFICIENT BANK, then HDFC would have defeated its closest competitor by a huge margin.
