My brother had a salary account with HDFC Bank for saome time. When he changed the organisation, the salry account was automatically converted into a savings account.
Last month since his AQB balance was short of Rs.500, the bank as a rule deducted Rs 800 approx from his account. This month again, they have deducted Rs.800 , even though the balance is much more than the required amount. When my brother approached the authorities at the branch (Sector-2, Salt Lake, Kolkata), some executives told him that the account was a salary account, while some others said it was a savings account.
Thanks to their knowledge, they have no idea about the necessary criteria of various accounts. Finally some other executives agreed that it was their fault, because of which they had deducted this amount. But they will not return tne said Rs.800 any more.
They have no reason why they will not return. Few days back, my brother had no other option. He went ahead and applied for closure of the said account. We have other accounts with this bank. But we dont think, we should proceed with our interaction with HDFC Bank.
A banking organisation, where employees have no knowldge about their own services cannot gain the trust of customers.
