I have dealt with HDFC bank and I would put a word of caution for anyone who's interested in dealing with this bank, of course based on my personal experience.
Mainly on Customer service point of view this bank seems to be just so selfish and it will behave nice with you till the time they see a profit from you. Just one late payment(even a minute late in case of auto-debit) or any such thing owing to personal circumstances, not only you'll be charged "Heavy" fees which is in hundreds of rupees but also you'll be treated differently from then onward!
I had a personal loan taken from them(not to mention with'huge' interest rate), and I have had a hard time to get out of it mainly because of many types of unnecessary charges(you'll be charged good amount of extra fees for paying your EMI manually if you have activated auto-debit and so on), which they could have waived off based on my reasons, but said that they could not do anything about it! I haven't even taken NOC for my loan completion as they were asking for paying some irrational fees of about INR 1300/- for something!
ATM availability is not good compared to other banks. Fewer ATMs across a developed city.
I think they would also have some hidden charges or relating policies for Internet Banking as well, who knows!
All in all, I would say that it is good to stay away from such a selfish bank that is just money oriented!
