It totally amuses me to understand the fact that banks have so much of spare time to actually send fake statements to customers for accounts which have been closed. I had this account a salary one with HDFC way back in 2001 with the first company that I started working for. Later on when I changed my organization I went to one of their branches and gave a written application for its closure in 2004. And I am amazed to know their audacity that they are emailing me statements. I have nothing pertaining to the account. When I called up their customer service even they had no clue why they had sent me the same. In one week I have received 2 statements for the account which had been closed way back in 2004. The best part of all is that when I had the account I never received any email statement from them n now they are sending them...really soon I must say. What a prompt reply to the requests.
I think HDFC is jinxed with my family. Even my husband had this account with HDFC. These guys have no clue for the 8000 bucks they have been demanding. Every time we ask for the details of the same, they have no answer for the same. When we tries to settle this thing with them, they were ready to take the money some 1500 rs but dint want to gave anything in writing for the settlement. Because of all these hassles my husband has not been able to get a decent credit card as this HDFC drama has affected his credit history.
I would recommend people planning to go HDFC pls be really careful as these guys can go to extent of showing fake expenses under your name n then would keep bothering you for money.
