I had an a/c in centurion bank earlier, which got merged into HDFC bank, so I did not have my a/c in this bank by will, but by chance.
you would expect to be intimated by the bank about your new bank a/c details after the merger. but I did not receive any letter or mail regarding the changed status of my a/c.
I also didn't pay any attention, as I used this a/c rarely and I had only 17-18 thousand rs in the a/c.
But a few months back I decided to buy from ebay and I saw hdfc netbanking as one of the options, so I decided to find the status of my a/c. I went to the bank and was told that my a/c has acquired dormant status, since I hadn't used it for quite sometime. I was asked to give an application and deposit some more money in the bank. I did that and also applied for netbanking.
I was told that I would get my epin in 7 days. I received a mail seven days later that my epin has been sent and I can collect it from the bank. but when I went to the bank, I was told that it would take some more days. I went a couple of times later, but did not receive e-pin. another day, I was told that epin has been dispatched to my address. after another 8-10 days I finally received my epin. then I tried to login in my netbanking a/c, but then I realized I did not have customer id. I called at the bank and they told me to visit the branch personally. then I went there, they asked me the a/c no. I did not remember the a/c no, but it should not have been difficult for them to get an a/c no. based on name and other details. but I felt that they were deliberately ignoring me. I phoned at my home and got the a/c no., my customer id was finally told to me.
I came back, selected the things to be bought online and was taken to hdfc netbanking page, and alas after numerous retries, still I cannot log into the a/c, it generates error every time.
I am fed up and exhausted by now !!
