HDFC - Big Liers. Review on HDFC Bank Visa Credit Card

This is second CC I applied. The only reason I applied this cards is

Its a Visa Gold Card, Valid internationally and they have Web portal.

In the end nothing is there.

The guy called me and said that since I have a account with HDFC Bank, they will give a waiver for 2 years on Gold Card.

I am travelling person and I wanted a feature of Web portal where I can view my transaction and make payments.

First question to the sales about Web Portal. As usual he said yes.

In the application, there is a column for auto debit from my SB account. I said yes for that.

Thats the big mistake I did.

All the problem started after this.

Verification:

Verification is done by external agency.

This agency has all my personal details. I was reluctant to divulge any information to them because, I am not very about these guys.

I did not give any answer to them. Then I was aksed to contact HDFC Call centre for more details.

I was on hold for an hour. This is after spending like 2 - 3 days.

Ultimately I got hold a CSR. Explained them I cannot disclose my details to some un-known agency. AFter going back and forth the processing is over and I will be getting my card.

The courier guy (Blue dart) came to deliver the Card to my office. That guy insisted I give either Driver license, PAN Card, Passport copy as proof of accepting the courier.

He wont take anything else. On top of this, he needs a photocopy of the document.

I was ready to show it to him that I am in deed the correct person and he can deliver the card.

That guy insisted for a copy which I refused. I asked him to take it back.

Again Call centre. Again waiting. At last I aksed them to deliver it to a nearest HDFC Bank and I will collect it in person.

I did that.

I got the card.

Surprise. I got a Gold Card. But its a Master Card. Then I thought to keep it for some time.

One more suprise. Statement came. There is balance I owe of Rs. 1600+.

This is membership fees.

According to my application, I am getting it because, I have an account with HDFC.

Again Call centre and waiting. Finally I found that I am cheated by that Sales agent. Mine is a normal application and no waiver for any fees.

By the time I finished all this, Bank has already taken money from my account for the membership fees.

Then I cut the card send it to them. Got the money back after cuople of months.

I missed one thing here. NO WEB PORTAL.

Lie #1 No Web portal

Lie #2 MASTER instead of Visa

Lie #3 2 years Waiver

.......

So I made up my mind not to venture for any credit card for some more time.
