Experience once in a lifetime…


Well, the story I am sharing today is an interesting one.


I have been using HDFC credit card for the last 2 years. Never ever faced any technical issues (once had wrong billing issue. But this time one fine evening got a message on my cell as‘ur card has been used for 6000 INR by ‘X’ site”.(never heard abt that ‘X website )’ I was taken aback, as I had the card in my wallet and I was wondering…..


1-who the hell used the card even if the card is with me?


2-I have never shared my card information and password or 2nd screen authentication password.


Then checked net banking details to confirm the transaction and found the same one mentioned there.


I was totally in a shock, and called customer care.Their immediate response was, send a dispute letter to us and the same will be investigated and reversed in 7 days (though initially calls were repeatedly disconnected by them, till now I have no clue about that). 7 days deadline is just a joke, they take 1 month for the entire process. Also I have sent two letters to manager of my home branch regarding the issue. But the fact is that these people will try to avoid acknowledging the receipt of the DOCS, by giving general reasons” we have not received till now; send it again by FAX etc….”


To be safer from ur side keep all docs for proof.


They told me regarding non receipt of the form even after 10 days.


When I sent them the speed post details along with the online delivery status, they have no other option but to accept the truth. This type of practice is not encouraging at all. Believe me Even I did send scanned copy of the FAX receipt .Repeatedly I called them to know the status of my issue. I was promised for reply by phone from their department, but as usual it never happens. Initially I was told by them the entire process takes 1 month, once I send the docs, they replied, the process takes 180 days. Why this type of cheap promises to customers? When I told them regarding complaint with RBI, I got positive response. The fact is that BIG BOSS is watching all. After 1.5 month the issue was solved and got the amount reversed (the whole story was lengthy, so explained in brief).


No doubt customer service provided by them is worst.


Never received any call regarding update on the issue (though promised by them), only got calls to know the delivery status of new credit cards (they don’t care for customer’s problem, only care for their business).


Moral of the story---be ready to spend sleepless nights if u own credit card :):):):)
