Please follow the steps given below if you do not want to have a bad experience with credit card later
MOST IMPORTANT:
NEVER BUY A CREDIT CARD WITH A BANK YOU HAVE A SAVINGS ACCOUNT
This is crucial as in case of any dispute, they will deduct money from you savings account without informing you. Then you will have to run pillar to post but nothing will happen. This has happened to me and the bank is ICICI Bank. Same happened with a friend who had HDFC card. So always go for a credit card where you have no other business relation nor do you intend to on later date. You should be a peaceful person.
NEVER GIVE YOUR SAVINGS ACCOUNT INFORMATION ON CREDIT CARD APPLICATION
Somewhere there in the fine print, the banks write that they have write to recover the money from what ever means possible.
NEVER TRUST CALL CENTRE GUYS WHEN THEY PROMISE YOU ANYTHING
Always ask for written communication (which ofcourse they will never give you)
TRY NOT TO GET INTO THE EMIs or REVOLVING CREDIT
I know its tough to resist offer from these sharks, but most of the disputes evolve from these.
MAKE SURE YOUR CARD HAS BEEN CANCELLED, WHEN YOU THINK IT IS CANCELLED
Or it will come to haunt you
